I tried this many years back with a Casio or Yamaha keyboard so my memory is rusty but I think there is a setting on the keyboard, besides PC mode where you can have 'local on' or 'local off' if memory serves, you turn local off and it will send the midi out of the keyboard. Iv'e messed with inputs on the midi track and or instrument track and theres nothing. I can't get the keyboard and pro tools via usb, to get any communication. mode on the keyboard I am using and I have messed with that and there is still no signal. However I cannot get the keyboard to play through at all. When I load up pro tools 11 the Keyboard is in my midi devides list. So far the computer and the keyboard have communication. With the Pianobox mini, every master keyboard and MIDI file player becomes. I want to use my Yamaha YPG-635 as a midi controller. Tip: Make sure you install, connect and turn on your MIDI controller first.
