These preferences only affect the display of text-based subtitling, also known as soft subtitles. Some of these applications include global preferences that determine whether they hide or show captioning in videos and movies that include it. In some players, you can right-click directly on the video image to bring up a menu from which you can turn off subtitles. The video player software you use to view an FLV file on your computer offers preferences that control the display of captioning information. Once subtitles become part of the video image itself, however, the task of making them disappear becomes more complicated. Text-file-based formats accept multiple options that can enable you to format their appearance - typeface, size, color and position, for example - and to add or replace captions in one language with support for another.
In the Subtitles menu, click on the desired subtitle language item from the list.Īfter the choosing made, the subtitle language name is displayed for a while in the lower-left corner of the screen (in the example - Swedish).Subtitling comprises two basic forms of captioning: those that rely on timed text incorporated into the video itself as metadata, and those that use text burned directly into the video image. All p rovided languages for the channel are listed in the Subtitles menu. During channel playback, open Subtitles menu (press Menu and then Left, Right on the remote). Subtitle choosing procedure aims to start showing subtitles in particular language from provided list variants. But the user can choose (i.e.run) any provided subtitle language on your own. If option Primary subtitle language is set as Disabled, then subtitles will not be autostarted. Otherwise, if such subtitle language (see item 2) is not provided too, the first subtitle language of the channel will be used.ĭuring channel playback, the user can choose any other subtitle language which provided for the channel. If such subtitle language (see item 1) is not provided for the channel, an attempt will be made to use subtitle variant that matches the language of the Embedded Portal.ģ. This case, the algorithm of subtitle choosing will be as follows:ġ. As a default, the language from the Primary subtitle language option will be chosen.Ģ. For this, you need to assign a specific variant of subtitles in the Primary subtitle language of Playback settings. If a particular channel contains built-in subtitles, a subtitle language can be started displaying as soon as the channel opens.
